UKeiG Conference: Last few residential spaces available!

UKeiG Conference: Innovation in e-Information - encouraging creative thinking and discussion amongst information professionals

Dates: 16th-17th June, 2009

Venue: Manchester Conference Centre

There are only a few bedrooms left available for residential spaces for the UKeiG Conference in June, so if you want a residential space you'll need to book soon. There are still non-residential spaces available (we can provide some hotel suggestions if required) and one-day spaces available, but they are all quickly filling up, so make sure you don't miss out! This conference is great value, so make sure you don't get left out!

Those who are attending the whole conference will be able to enjoy the additional benefits of the conference drinks and conference dinner on the night of the 16th, where they will be able to mingle with other guests and speakers and network the evening away.

This major UKeiG event will bring together experienced practitioners to share and discuss the key issues of service delivery across all sectors, providing expert guidance and opinion. Active delegate participation will be key, with opportunities to discuss issues, share experiences and formulate innovative solutions in the breakout sessions, in addition to the top quality speakers who are on offer.

Speakers and topics include:

- Jan Wilkinson, Rylands University Library: Customer needs
- Richard Wallis, Talis: A new web of information
- Nic Price, Independent Adviser: User-centred web design
- Laurence Bebbington, University of Nottingham: E-law
- Martin White, Intranet Focus Ltd: Risk management
- Ross Scrivener, Royal College of Nursing: Web 2 in action
- Hazel Hall, Edinburgh Napier University: Social computing tools

Breakout sessions will be topical, so they may change, but they are currently:

- Innovative search techniques
- Avoiding legal problems
- Increasing the value of your intranet
- Practical solutions for managing digital images
- The future of online publishing
- Information security
