What is desktop search?

Hi All,

Some of you may have spotted that I am doing a presentation on Desktop Search at Online Information 2005 on Tuesday 29th November. Following my posting in the Online Information blog, I had several comments and emails providing valuable feedback, but also a couple of questions as to what desktop search actually does. Rather than repeat the posting here, go to http://blog.online-information.co.uk/2005/10/what_is_desktop.html for a very basic explanation. Any comments or questions are welcome as comments in either the UKeiG or the Online Information blog, or as emails to karen dot blakeman at rba dot co dot uk.
